La Grande Boucle - the biggest race of the three Grand Tours. It's the Super bowl of cycling and a race pretty much every cyclist dream of winning, but very few succed with.

Obviously it's hard to make a tribute to the Tour de France without involving yellow in one way or another, and the 2022 edition has carefully selected parts in contrasting yellow against the wet asphalt colored dial. The dial also features a polka dot pattern, shifting in appearance depending on the light.

At 12 o'clock you might recognize the hour index. The inspiration comes from the iconic French white and yellow milestones that are found on the French climbs, showing altitude, gradient and how far it is to the top.

The neat 38,2 mm diameter and the FKM rubber strap, makes the watch comfortable to wear both on and off the bike.

THE DIAL

The wet asphalt colored dial features a glossy black polka dot pattern. The polka dot pattern is inspired by the iconic king of the mountains jersey in the Tour de France, worn by the best climber.

The beautiful thing about the polka dot pattern is that it will change its character depending on the light, ranging from hardly visible to stark contrast.

The lume infilled hour indices makes it easy to read the time at a glance even when it's dark. Something familiar with the design of the 12H index? The inspiration comes from the famous milestones on the French climbs. Just the kind of discreet cycling references we like to incorporate into our designs.

The dial features a 15 minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12 hour counter at 6 o'clock and a small second at 9 o'clock. The main second hand will start once you press the chronograph pusher.

The tradition of the rider with number 13 in a race wearing it upside down on the back of the jersey goes a long way back, and it's a tradition that has found its way to the dial design as well.

THE CASE

We wanted to create an elegant, yet powerful, case design. The classic dimension of the watch, 38,2 mm diameter, is smaller than most chronographs which we think is beautiful and makes it very versatile. It was also important for us to make it comfortable to wear, both on and off the bike.

We have carefully combined polished and brushed surfaces to create a visually interesting look.

On the case back you will find a recessed "finish line" checker pattern, with a sand blasted finish. A classic racing reference.

The two pushers are easy to operate and the crown features our signature design with a recessed surface.

THE MOVEMENT

Inside La Grande Boucle you'll find a Swiss made Sellita SW511 movement, with rhodium plating, blue screws and Côtes de Genève and perlé decoration. The beautiful movement, which can be seen through the sapphire case back, also features a custom rotor with a deep etched "finish line" pattern.

The 27 jewel movement impresses with a power reserve of up to 62 hours.

HAND BUILT IN SWEDEN

Each Grand Tour watch is hand built in Båstad, in the southern parts of Sweden. Here we have a small workshop where our watchmaker does all the assembly, testing and, if needed, regulation of the accuracy of the movements.

The assembly and testing process takes about two weeks, and after a final visual inspection the watch is sent to the customer.
